This is a flag lot created from
subdividing a .62 acre R-1-8 zoned residential property
in the heart of Murray, a half block south of Murray
City library. A lien across the front of the driveway
to the house on Hillside Dr. (235 East) is included in
the purchase price which allows the flag lot owner to go
around three guy wires that support a telephone pole at
the front SE corner of the flag lot drive strip. These
guy wires are owned by Murray City, Comcast and Qwest.
Currently, an historic barn sits on the .3 acre flag
lot. Murray Historic Commission has a picture of this
barn on file, which is all that is required before
demolition. There are no utilities to the barn, which
has a concrete floor. Citi Mortgage holds the current
mortgage on the .62 parcel being subdivided to create
the flag lot for sale, and is ready to process partial
release paperwork. The property access is on the west
side of Hillside Dr. [235 East], and a new water meter
needs to be installed for hook in with the Murray City
water line which runs along the east side of 235 East. Albretsen's
Concrete and Construction, who just completed clearing
trees and obstacles to make way for the drive strip, and
capped the sprinkler system at the water main to prepare
for the subdivision, informed me that the new water line
required for the flag lot which would run under the
drive strip back to where a new residential house would
be built, is generally installed after completion of the
basement for the new residence. Murray City requires
that the drivestrip be 20 ft. wide and paved. The
property is about 1/2 mile south east of the new
Intermountain Medical Center. Murray High, Hillcrest
Jr., and Parkside Elementary are the nearby schools.
Hillcrest Jr. sports field borders the flag lot property
on the west side, but is zoned commercial, and it is
possible that it could torn down in five years,
according to a long-term neighbor, and relocated to
access the value of the commercial land the school sits
on near the Intermountain Medical
