Union, IL, was established in 1975 by the current owners and has been in
continuous operation ever since. Other nearby attractions in Union are
the Illinois Railway Museum, the McHenry County Historical Museum and a
KOA Kampground located adjacent to the park.
Offered for sale is this unique, one-of-a-kind 26 acre commercial
property, of which 12 acres remain undeveloped. Also included are 12
buildings which include the museum, restaurant, banquet facility, 2
residences, warehouse and multiple buildings in the village quadrangle
and surrounding grounds.
Wild West Town is a turnkey operation which includes an interactive
theme park complete with Wild West Show, train ride, museum, combination
restaurant-steakhouse-saloon, several gift shops, banquet facility,
picnic grounds, web site and domain name. It offers visitors of all ages
a family-oriented full day adventure into the early days of Western
Americana. The park is beautifully situated on landscaped grounds and is
fully handicapped accessible.
Certainly a major feature of the site is the 12,000 square foot museum
which houses an old-time village street complete with wooden sidewalks.
As guests stroll into yesteryear they can enjoy perusing the various
shop displays which include a pawn shop, tobacco shop, rifle & gun shop,
toy shop, toy train shop, garage, telegraph office, doctor's office, and
lamp shop. There's even a movie theatre, whose walls are decorated with
lots of original vintage movie posters and photographs, featuring
old-time movies that run throughout the day. Or stop in at the
old-fashioned ice cream parlor to relax and have something to cool the
palate. All of the shops and features display an amazing array of rare
and unusual antiques that have been personally and painstakingly
collected over many years by the Donley family.
Also included in the museum building are numerous display cases with
collections that include, but are not limited to, glass, pottery and
china, gold mining, cowboy movie stars, gambling, Native American
memorabilia, firearms, Civil & Indian Wars' artifacts, pioneer America,
Annie Oakley, Custer, Lincoln and US war veterans. The display cases
themselves are unique in that they were originally acquired from
Chicago's famous Field Museum of Natural History.
Without question the premier collection, also located within the museum,
is the one dedicated to the early Edison and RCA Victor talking
machines, Victrolas and music boxes. The visitor will view thousands of
items which include machines, horns, paper goods, records, needles and
phonograph memorabilia. An unbelievable assortment of some of the rarest
and finest machines ever produced are on display here. Wild West Town is
also host to the internationally acclaimed and well-attended Union, IL
Phonograph and Music Box Show held annually in June.
For your convenience we can provide a CD that provides you with a

and its various features and collections. Additionally, we can provide
