THE TOWN OF DRAYTON VALLEY

The city site is situated high on a plateau between the North Saskatchewan River and the Pembina River. This where the rolling grasslands meet the forested foothills of the west. Drayton Valley was incorporated in 1957, and is the largest community within the County of Brazeau. It is the prime focal point of the region for most services.

Drayton Valley offers a wide range of retail and business services from large chain stores to family businesses. A full complement of eating establishments, hotels are available.

There are many parks offering facilities such as baseball fields, soccer pitches, and tennis and basketball courts. There are over 4 miles of paved walking trails throughout the community, and more being built for the future.

The Drayton Valley fitness center is fully equipped with state of the art equipment, racquetball and squash courts, running track, and message clinic.

There are 12 churches of every denomination, 6 schools covering K-12, and facilities for post secondary education through in class instruction or computer learning.

With 2 surgical suites, and obstetrical unit, X-ray, Laboratory, and renal dialysis unit, and full diagnostic capabilities. The hospital is fully staffed and operates on a 24 hr. per day basis, with complete emergency and ambulance coverage. Drayton Valley has 11 doctors, 7 consulting specialists, 5 dentists, 2 chiropractors, several physiotherapists, 2 optometrists, and 3 medical clinics in addition to the hospital complex.
